	TrollVision


TrollVision is a series of five digital fables developed to communicate the work of the artistic research project Troll Perception in the Heartlands: Artistic Research to Widen Our Imagination Capacity. Through humour, speculative storytelling, animation and more-than-human characters, the films explore other ways of understanding humanity’s place in the living world.

The fictional core of the series consists of two animations:

In On History, Robin, Ursula and Ache gather around a campfire to discuss labour and the stories humanity has created about itself. Fungal networks, protesting stones, beech nuts, pigs and a calabash lead the conversation away from conquest and heroism and towards gathering, reciprocity and care.

In The Last Tavern on Earth, three characters look back at human civilisation from a world in which humans have long since disappeared. Among the ruins of a city, Donna spends her days with an Oilbird and an ancient, talking Bar Counter, drinking cold-pressed melted tyre. Their conversations move between ecological collapse, “sustainable” consumption and the Earth’s deep memory, interrupted by the recurring Potato Carnival. Human extinction is an ending, but not necessarily the end.

The remaining three films are episodes of The Rock Richman Show and address people working in architecture and urban planning, education, and public-sector cultural work. Rather than presenting ready-made solutions, the programmes invite conversations about how our everyday decisions shape future environments, forms of knowledge and institutions. They also present methods and concepts developed by MYCKET through their artistic research.

The films are both artistic works and pedagogical material. They can be screened separately or combined in different ways depending on the context and audience. The filmmaking process has also formed part of the research method itself: a way of making other perspectives on time, forms of agency and relationships possible to see, hear and imagine.

The project was hosted by Linnaeus University and funded through the Swedish Research Council’s research communication grant.

	TrollVision


TrollVision är en serie med fem digitala sagor, utvecklade för att förmedla det konstnärliga forskningsprojektet Trollsyn i hjärtmarkerna: konstnärlig forskning som vidgar vår föreställningsförmåga. Genom humor, spekulativt berättande, animation och mer-än-mänskliga karaktärer utforskar filmerna andra sätt att förstå människans plats i den levande världen.

Seriens fiktiva kärna utgörs av två animationer:
 
I Om historien samlas Robin, Ursula och Ache runt en lägereld där de samtalar om arbete och de berättelser människan har skapat om sig själv. Svampnätverk, demonstrerande stenar, bokollon, grisar och en kalebass leder samtalet bort från erövring och hjältemod och mot samlande, ömsesidighet och omsorg.

I Jordens sista krog blickar tre karaktärer tillbaka på den mänskliga civilisationen från en värld där människorna sedan länge har försvunnit. I ruinerna av en stad tillbringar Donna sina dagar tillsammans med oljefågeln och en uråldrig, talande bardisk, drickandes kallpressat smältdäck. Deras samtal rör sig mellan ekologisk kollaps, ”hållbar” konsumtion och jordens långa minne, avbrutna av den återkommande Potatiskarnevalen. Människans utdöende är ett slut, men inte nödvändigtvis slutet.

De övriga tre filmerna är avsnitt av Sten Rikmans Talkshow och riktar sig till personer som arbetar med arkitektur och samhällsplanering, pedagogik samt offentlig kulturverksamhet. I stället för att presentera färdiga lösningar bjuder programmen in till samtal om hur våra vardagliga beslut formar framtida miljöer, kunskaper och institutioner. Här presenteras också metoder och begrepp som MYCKET utvecklat genom sin konstnärliga forskning.

Filmerna är både konstnärliga verk och pedagogiskt material. De kan visas var för sig eller kombineras på olika sätt beroende på sammanhang och publik. Filmarbetet har också varit en del av själva forskningsmetoden: ett sätt att göra andra tidsperspektiv, aktörer och relationer möjliga att se, höra och föreställa sig.

Projektet har varit förlagt til Linnéuniversitetet och genomfördes med stöd av Vetenskapsrådets bidrag till forskares kommunikation.

	Eco-Horror


In eco-horror, nature strikes back at humanity, often in response to  environmental destruction and human greed. Eco-Horror takes as its starting point a tree cut down due to Dutch elm disease.

For almost three weeks, we worked on site beside the Norrtälje River with chisels, other hand tools and a chainsaw. We followed and accentuated the stump’s existing character, painting it with linseed oil paint in colours we developed by experimenting with raw pigments. The sculpture took shape through an interplay with the stump’s form, the hard elm wood and the particular conditions of the site.

Working on the riverbank sparked spontaneous conversations with passers-by about the tree, the disease and the emerging sculpture, as well as broader ecological questions and humanity’s relationship with other forms of life.

Eco-Horror was created as part of Konst i ån 2025 in Norrtälje and remains in place indefinitely.With thanks to Norrtälje konsthall.

	Eko-skräckis


Inom ekoskräck slår naturen tillbaka mot människan, ofta som en följd av miljöförstöring och mänsklig girighet. Ekoskräckis tar sin utgångspunkt i ett träd som sågats ner på grund av almsjukan.

Under nästan tre veckor arbetade vi på plats vid Norrtäljeån med mejslar, andra handverktyg och motorsåg. Vi följde och förstärkte högstubbens befintliga karaktär och målade den med linoljefärg i kulörer som vi experimenterade fram med råpigment. Gestaltningen växte fram i samspel med stubbens form, det hårda almvirket och platsens förutsättningar.

Arbetet på åkanten gav upphov till spontana samtal med förbipasserande om trädet, sjukdomen och den framväxande skulpturen, men också om ekologiska frågor och människans relation till andra livsformer.

Ekoskräckis skapades som en del av Konst i ån 2025 i Norrtälje och står kvar på obestämd tid.&#38;nbsp;

	Beaktroll Mitzy


What happens to a wish when no one sees the shooting star? We believe it lands in an apple. Cut the apple crosswise and you will see the star-shaped core at its centre. That is where the wish lies. And when you eat the apple, you get to make a wish.

The work began in the bedrock beneath Skogsborgsskolan in Katrineholm. On a topographic map of the area, we saw the outline of beaktroll. Using our troll perception, we began exploring the school grounds together with fourth-grade pupils. By troll perception, we mean an approach that draws inspiration from fairy tales, folklore and more-than-human beings to expand our imagination and find inventive ways of living with the planet rather than at its expense.

During the spring of 2024, we explored the map and the large boulder outside the sports hall. The children had recently learned about the ice sheet, but we could still imagine together: what if the beaktroll had rolled the boulder there? We touched, listened to and looked at the map lichen growing on it. Using clay, drawings and words, the children created magical additions, creatures and wishes connected to the boulder. Their work was exhibited at the school and later in our exhibition We are rich as trolls (2024) at Katrineholms konsthall.

The figure of the beaktroll grew out of the children’s clay figures, the creature we had seen in the map, and Gatsubergstrollet – a troll from local folklore in Katrineholm. The children also helped name the work: Beaktroll Mitzy. In the completed work, the small bronze sculpture sits on a stone holding an apple in its hands. An apple tree has been planted there, while an image projected onto the façade of the sports hall gives the story of the shooting star a place in the school grounds. Together, these elements invite us to discover the magical in the everyday.

The work was inaugurated in autumn 2025.

	Näbbtrollet Mitzy


Vad händer med önskningen när ingen ser stjärnfallet? Vi tror att den landar i ett äpple. Skär du äpplet på tvären syns det stjärnlika kärnhuset i mitten. Där ligger önskningen. Och när du äter äpplet får du önska dig något.

Arbetet med Näbbtrollet Mitzy började i urberget under Skogsborgsskolan i Katrineholm. På en topografisk karta över området såg vi konturerna av ett näbbtroll. Med hjälp av vår trollsyn började vi utforska skolgården tillsammans med eleverna i årskurs fyra. Med trollsyn menar vi ett förhållningssätt där vi hämtar inspiration från sagor, sägner och mer-än-mänskliga varelser för att vidga vår föreställningsförmåga och hitta uppfinningsrika sätt att leva med planeten, inte på bekostnad av den.

Under våren 2024 undersökte vi kartan och den stora stenbumlingen utanför idrottshallen. Barnen hade nyligen lärt sig om inlandsisen, men vi kunde ändå fantisera tillsammans: tänk om näbbtrollet hade rullat dit stenen? Vi kände, lyssnade och tittade på kartlaven som växte på den. Med lera, teckningar och ord formade barnen magiska tillägg, varelser och önskningar som hörde samman med stenen. Deras arbeten ställdes ut på skolan och senare i vår utställning Vi är rika som troll (2024) på Katrineholms konsthall.

Näbbtrollets gestalt växte fram med inspiration från barnens lerfigurer, varelsen i kartan och Gatsubergstrollet – den lokala sägenfiguren från Katrineholm. Barnen var med och namngav verket – Näbbtrollet Mitzy. 

I det färdiga verket sitter det lilla näbbtrollet i brons på en sten med ett äpple i händerna. Ett äppelträd är planterat och en bildprojektion på idrottshallens fasad ger sagan om stjärnfallet en plats på skolgården. Tillsammans bjuder de in till att upptäcka det magiska i det vardagliga.

Verket invigdes hösten 2025.

	We Are Rich as Trolls


We are Rich as Trolls som presents works produced by MYCKET over the past few years in connection with the artistic research-by-design project Troll Perception in the Heartlands. The exhibition centres on the devastation capitalism inflicts on the living planet, fuelled by the belief that resources are infinite and time is scarce. In reality, it is the other way around: time is all we have, while resources are finite.

Taking inspiration from Gunvor Guttorm’s observation that “crafting doesn’t take time, it gives time,” MYCKET explores partly forgotten craft techniques, including weaving with willow, rush and spruce roots, making clay paint, and wood carving. The exhibition brings together assemblages, sculptures, animations and paintings across three different spatial environments. The works reflect MYCKET’s emerging role as shapeshifters rather than designers.

The exhibition design itself forms part of an ongoing exploration of homemade clay paint. All the works are made from found, harvested or discarded materials, including bottle gourds, rushes, willow, bones and objects that have been transformed from refuse into treasures. One part of the exhibition also presents works created together with fourth-grade students from Skogsborgsskolan, as well as other children who have participated in MYCKET’s workshops over the years.

The exhibition is accompanied by an educational programme developed by MYCKET, focusing on clay paint and sculpture.

	Vi är rika som troll


 Vi är rika som troll visar verk ur MYCKETs produktion de senaste åren, kopplade till det konstnärliga forskningsprojektet ‘Trollsyn i hjärtmarkerna’. Temat för utställningen är kapitalismens förödelse av den levande planeten som bygger på en uppfattning om att resurser är oändliga och tid är något som vi har ont om – när det egentligen är tvärtom. Tid är det enda vi har, det är resurserna som är ändliga. 

I Gunvor Guttorms anda att ‘hantverk tar inte tid, det ger tid’ utforskar MYCKET delvis glömda hantverkstekniker som pil-, säv och granrotsflätning; skapar lerfärg och täljer i trä. I utställningen visas assemblage, skulpturer,&#38;nbsp; animation och måleri i tre olika rumsligheter. Allt är gjort utifrån MYCKETs nya position som formskiftare istället för formgivare. Den rumsliga gestaltningen är också del av undersökningen av egentillverkad lerfärg i stor skala. Alla verk i utställningen består av funnet eller skördat material såsom kalebass, säv, pil, kotor och skräp som blivit till skatter. En del av utställningen visar också verk som gjorts i samarbete med Skogsborgsskolans fjärdeklassare och andra barn som deltagit i MYCKETS verkstäder genom åren. 

Utställningen ackompanjeras av ett pedagogiskt program curerat av MYCKET med fokus på lerfärg och skulptur.

	The Secret Garden


The Secret Garden is a living sculpture covering an area of 200 square meters, located at Utsikten, the outdoor educational exhibition space at ArkDes. By utilizing traditional craft techniques, repurposed and natural materials, MYCKET is creating an enchanted garden throughout 2024-2025. This garden will evolve and transform through play and creativity together with ArkDes’ younger visitors.

The design of the Secret Garden draws inspiration from a story about a pack of wolf-like trolls living in the ancient rock directly beneath the garden (discovered on the topographical map). This is manifested by a wolf’s ear that peeks up from the ground - complete with an earring in the shape of an ouroboro (the snake biting its own tail, symbolizing death and rebirth).

Besides human children, insects and birds have also been invited to the space, which has additionally hosted an extensive cultivation of bottle gourds. These gourds are being used by MYCKET in our research project on circular design.

The Secret Garden goes into hibernation over the winter to be reawakened in the spring of 2025.

The Secret Garden at ArkDes has been created by an entire team, with special thanks to Johannes Riesterer and the after-school group from Filosofiska Skolan in Skarpnäck.

	Den hemliga trädgården


Den hemliga trädgården är en levande skulptur på en yta om 200 kvm lokaliserad på Utsikten, ArkDes pedagogiska utställningsrum utomhus. Genom att använda traditionella hantverkstekniker, återbruk och naturmaterial skapar MYCKET under 2024-2025 en förtrollad trädgård som genom lek och kreativitet får växa och omformas tillsammans med ArkDes yngre besökare. 
Den hemliga trädgårdens gestaltning tar avstamp i sagan om en flock vargliknande troll som bor i urberget rakt under trädgården (återfunnen i den topografiska kartan) och manifesteras genom det vargöra som tittar upp ur marken -&#38;nbsp; med tillhörande örhänge i form av en ouroboro (ormen som biter sig själv i svansen som symbol för död och pånyttfödelse). Förutom mänskliga barn har även insekter och fåglar bjudits in till platsen, vilken också agerat värd åt en omfattande odling av kalebasser som MYCKET använder i sitt forskningsprojekt om cirkulär formgivning. 
Utsikten går under vintern i ide för att återuppväckas våren 2025. 
Utsikten på ArkDes har skapats av en hel flock, med särskilt tack till Johannes Riesterer och fritidsgruppen från Filosofiska skolan i Skarpnäck.

The exhibition “Vaginal Davis: Magnificent Product” extends across several locations in Stockholm: Accelerator at Stockholm University, Index – Swedish Art Foundation, Nationalmuseum, MDT (Moderna dansteatern) and Tensta Konsthall.
The exhibition HOFPFISTEREI at Index – Swedish Art Foundation, where Vaginal Davis's literary works are presented, has also been designed by MYCKET in collaboration with the gallery's curators Marti Manen and Isabella Tjäder.&#38;nbsp;

	Utställningen äger också rum på olika partnerinstitutioner i Stockholm inklusive Accelerator på Stockholms  universitet, Index – The Swedish Art Foundation,&#38;nbsp;MDT (Moderna Dansteatern), Nationalmuseum och Tensta Konsthall – varje lokalitet belyser en särskild aspekt av Vaginal Davis verk.Utställningen HOFPFISTEREI på Index – Swedish Foundation for Contemporary Art, där Vaginal Davis litterära arbeten presenteras, har även den ritats fram av MYCKET i samarbete med galleriets curatorer Marti Manen och Isabella Tjäder.&#38;nbsp;

	Hemö:Surtsey
Hemö is an installation for Södertälje Art Gallery.

An island for finding a home in the landscape,
a home in time,
with those who came before and those who come after,
for those who work here and those who visit.

Disasters and rebirth.
When an island rises from the sea, all worry ceases.
The ants in the blood disappear.
Completely free in my insignificance, despite the sulfur smell, I breathe again.

On November 14, 1963, an island was born from the sea south of Iceland. It formed through a submarine volcanic eruption 130 meters along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. People squabbled over the name, but eventually christened it Surtsey, after the underground ruler of fire, the giant Surtr. Just a couple of weeks later, gulls and seagulls began to appear there between volcanic eruptions. Insects and microbes hovered over the island. Ocean currents brought seeds, and by the summer of 1965, the first sea rocket plant grew on Surtsey’s black shore. Four years later, when the volcano calmed, the island was 2.7 km² in size. 
The island, whose 60th anniversary we’ve just celebrated, has since partially eroded and sunk. It is now 1.4 km², the same size as Södertälje’s city center, including Torekällberget. Like Surtsey, Södertälje Art Gallery’s Hemö is a new place, but it is not made of anything new; instead, it consists of things that spill, brood, and bloom when they receive warmth and nourishment.

Hemö was installed in March 2024.

Hemö är en installation för Södertälje konsthall.En ö för att komma hem i landskapet,hem i tiden,hos de som gått före och de som kommer efter,för de som arbetar här och de som besöker.Katastrofer och pånyttfödelse.När en ö stiger ur havet upphör all oro.Myrorna i blodet försvinner.Helt fri i min obetydlighet, svalvelos till trots, andas jag igen.Den 14 november 1963 föds en ö ur havet söder om Island.&#38;nbsp; Den bildas genom ett submarint vulkanutbrott på 130 meter utmed den mittatlantiska ryggen. Människorna kivas om namnet, men döper ön till Surtsey efter eldens underjordiske härskare, jätten Surt. Bara ett par veckor senare börjar trutar och måsar vistas där mellan de vulkaniska utbrotten. Insekter och mikrober svävar över ön. Havsströmmar för med sig fröer och redan sommaren 1965 växer en första marviol på Surtseys svarta strand.&#38;nbsp;
Fyra år senare när vulkanen lugnar sig är ön 2,7 km² stor. 
Ön, vars 60-årsdag vi just firat, har delvis eroderat och sjunkit sedan dess. Den är nu 1,4 km²; lika stor som Södertäljes stadskärna inklusive Torekällberget. Likt Surtsey är Södertälje konsthalls Hemö en ny plats, men består inte av något nytt, utan av sånt som dräller, ruvar och blommar ut när det får värme och näring.Hemö installerades i mars 2024.
